Stage 06

Floors

Define every ground-bearing, suspended envelope or internal suspended floor and assess only the Clause 5.4 checks that apply.

What you will learn

  • Choose an explicit floor type.
  • Assign the design to its storey, occupancy and applicable area.
  • Document the selected R-value source and moisture suitability evidence.

Prepare before you start

  • Floor construction details
  • Storey, occupancy and applicable area
  • Underfloor heating, insulation product data and moisture suitability evidence

Step by step

Complete this stage

1

Create each floor design

Use separate entries for floor conditions with different construction or insulation.

2

Choose the floor type and scope

Select ground-bearing, suspended external/envelope or internal suspended, then assign its storey, occupancy and area.

3

Choose the R-value source

Select calculation from thickness and conductivity or a manufacturer-certified R-value. Resolve any material disagreement warning.

4

Complete the applicable evidence

For suspended envelope floors, confirm suitability under moist conditions and retain the certificate or data-sheet reference.

Quality check

  • Non-applicable checks display N/A.
  • Every design is assessed independently.
  • Unknown energy zones and missing moisture evidence remain visible for review.

Use this guide with the current project documents, official standards available to your team and the review required for your professional role.
